Mid-Beach runs from 23rd Street to 63rd, and Collins between 41st and 63rd is Millionaire's Row — the estates became the Fontainebleau and Eden Roc, both Morris Lapidus. Neighbors still litigate the famous 1959 court fight when Fontainebleau's expansion threatened to shade the Eden Roc pool. His Stairway to Nowhere climbed forty feet to reach only a coat check, built purely so guests could make an entrance.
