Andersonville runs down Clark Street from Foster to Bryn Mawr, once the heart of Swedish Chicago. The blue-and-yellow water tank atop the Swedish American Museum went up in 1927, died in the 2014 polar vortex, and returned in 2017 as a replica funded by $165,000 of neighbors' money. Women & Children First bookstore arrived in 1990 and helped earn the nickname Girlstown.
